HELP! no sound on earpiece of SLVR L7

I just got a brand new SLVR L7 and everything works except the most important part.

There is no sound on the earpiece of the phone. People can hear me when I talk but I can't hear anything...not even the "ringing" noise. When I use the speaker or bluetooth handset, it works. Any ideas on what is wrong? I tried the volume key within the menu when you're connected and still, can't hear a thing. Thanks, David

hi. I had posted the same problem on my L7.Infact I got the earpiece changed (hey told me that they replaced it with a new one)from moto assist here in india,since the handset is under warranty.but within 3 days the earpiece has conked off again

Will take it back to Motoassist tomorrow.

anyone has any idea what could be the reason...maybe some kind of short circuit or a faulty PCB.
