Come on guys /gals throw a dog a bone here. I know there must be some brew 1.X apps / games out there still.
If you can't post anything please PM me with whatever you can. I have Yahoo and google searched the crap out of this and all I am finding is dead links.
Please

You have to be kidding me NO ONE has any old brew games for there T720c's.

This HAS to be a first ever. Java games comming out of the woodwork but not ONE brew 1.X game.

If I remember correctly Brew games are phone specific? So I don't think they ate interchangable from one phone to another?

That doesn't make any sense. The entire point of BREW is to provide a runtime environment which gives a layer of abstraction between the applications and the hardware - ie, to make it so any app written for BREW will work on any hardware. From what I understand, the issue lies in the fact that BREW supports a higher level of DRM than j2me does, which means if verizon doesn't want you running unauthorized apps on your phone, then you can't.

I just love paying $300 for a brand new "top of the line" phone and then finding out that all those features I was told the phone has aren't actually accessible because Verizon decided they were too useful. Being a consumer these days is AWESOME!

The main problem is that Brew games can be authenticated to the device they are first installed on - this is one of the key features of Brew applications.

In other words if you purchase a Brew game, take it off your phone and then try and run it on another phone (even if the phone is the same model as yours), 99% of the time it won't work.

OK I do see your points about "phone specific" but is that for all brew 1.0 to 2.X or is that just the later? I have read that older brew versions have been "hacked" to me that means you can just add anything to your phone. this is why I am asking for older brew games/ apps. I still have Brew 1.1 on my phone.

BUT if this is not possable, is there any way to install Java on my T720c?
Re_Flash with a differant firmware to remove brew and install java?
These are questions that I have searched for answers but nothing has surfaced. Probably because the 720 is an OLD phone noone wants an old phone and the newer cooler phones have games / ringtones already in them.
well thanks for your replies so, far keep them comming, as #2 said "I need input"

Ok, the deal with BREW is this:

If you have a T720C flashed to T730 firmware, you are out of luck. The T730 runs BREW 1.2, which was the begenning of the BREW 2.0 encryption phase.

BREW, is, for all intensive purposes, still secure. It's uncracked.

Now, for your T720 (post your firmware version, that will help me out. I think .2dp is the latest T720 firmware that can still run "backed up" games), you can still run games. But the only games you'd be able to run are pirated Verizon BREW games, which is against the rules to post, and that's the primary reason you are not getting any information.

Hope that helps.

No it is still a t720 never flashed to the 730 (glad now I did not) My software version is 1.2.22.44.DP and looking at the Brew settings it shows version 1.1.5.4 As far as posting anything please don't I do not want to get banned.
It would be ok to PM me though with anything you all can.
Thanks again for all of your replys this has helped me greatly.

Folks: Been following your discussion (looking through the FAQ, too, to not be a pest) - I have a Motorla Razr V3c through US Cellular. I've been trying to activate the Java app enabler (using Midway, P2kman, etc.) and that surely hasn't worked - then I'm told (by USC) that it runs BREW games. Am I correct in following your comments that there is currently no way to up/download games to/from the Razr? Thanks from a newbie to the forum...

You are correct, foolery, there is no way to enable the JAD, nor can you upload BREW games.

@Tv - BREW version 1.1 should still be able to upload games.
