How to check the date code of S40

The siemens support told me that S40 didn't have date code on
the phone.
Is this true ?
Could anyone here confirm this with me ?

There is a date code on S40. It's not in the traditional Siemens format, though. It's printed on a label underneath the battery. The date code is a 4 digit number. The first two numbers are the year, the second two numbers are the week. Example: 0102 = second week of 2001.
