V3 Razr Ringer Skips

Howdy yall...
I like to use my own ringtones for specific people(like everyone else). I have a couple of mp3s i use as ringers. When I get a call and those ringers play, It will cut out and different points and stall for a a few seconds and then resume playing the selected mp3. Are there any fixes/causes for this? My mp3s were made using motorola phone tools and play fine on the computer, and on the phone when played as an audio file. Any helpwould be be appreciated.
