w810 on Cingular?

There are rumblings in the SE forum about the w810 coming to Cingular within a month or so. Anybody know anything about this?

I have no idea whether Cingular will carry this phone. Still, whether or not it's actually coming to Cingular is somewhat irrelevant to me. It's a quad-band phone, so you could always buy it without Cingular carrying it, unless, of course, you just love Cingular's customization, logo, etc.

Who likes Cingular customization?

cough.. nobody. Sometimes $$ is the factor when a carrier brings up a phone because cheaper than unlocked...

+ if cingular customized it like crap like on the w600i with its WSOD issues because of Cingular, then I rather get w810i unlocked.

Cingular always manages to screw things up in customizing the firmware. Didn't they take away the MP3 ringtones in the Nokia 6620 but the unbranded one was fine? Nokia 6682 unbranded doesn't seem to have to call log issue. I am gonna get the K790a unbranded if I can. I don't want Cingular firmware to do bad stuff to my phone. Also Cingular's W600i firmware seems to surpress tower IDs.

So I assume it is impossible to re-flash the firmware of a Cingular-branded phone?

it is a big difference, I dont care about the cingular branding on the 3120, but on the 6230 it froze a lot, flashed it unbranded and its a big difference
