Well you cant go wrong with an Acura. You prolly like the goodies it offers such as leather, woodtrim and sunroof. Years of reliable service will be comming.

As for mods, just try to keep it clean and simple, you dont really wanna rice up an Acura. That is not what an Acura is for. HID is always a nice choice, but find a way to disable the DRL if you do install it. Dont drive in the daylight with your HID on PLEASE...

Whats the mileage ? And whats the OTD price ??

True. The only things I'll probably add on an EL would be HID on both low beam, fog light and tinted windows.

Sure you can change them to blue, that's if you want to get pulled over by the police.

Don't forget as well that for a foglight (or any light) to function optimally it would have to give out yellow or white light. Yellow is the colour of choice in fog or bad weather. And despite what you've heard hyperwhite does not give any more usable light output.

imo the EL is just a overpriced civic w/ acura badge...
but i guess is ok if is 2nd hand...
they will last as long as u take care of it...

and as for the HID part..
i found this out yesterday while helping a friend to install a steering wheel on his friend's car..
he also have HID (echo hatch) and he have the HID hooked to the high beam(H4 HID only have low beam)
so that will be no output for the DRL, but the catch is u gotta push the switch to highbeam during the nite....

we own 3 hondas and the 1.7 EL is the worst, heck some of its features were outdone by our 1993 Honda Accord EX, not to mention the 2003 Accord LX-G. Accord's are way smoother and not that much worse on gas. The EL's (as a manual) pretty much screams at highway speeds (rpm is way to high @120) and it is an easily blown around car if you have any wind. The fuel economy falls short of expectations too. This was a 2002 though, so maybe things have improved since then.

Plus the 1.7EL just cost us $3000 dollars at just above 100,000kms, the alternator blew, new bettery, back windows didn't work etc. etc., plus there is all sorts of squeaks and rattles (again, something the '93 doesn't have), not the greatest Honda to buy if you ask me.

How are Hondas overpriced? Enlighten me please...

Why not just switch the wires on the H4 harness so that the HID comes on with low beam? All you have to do is pull two prongs from the harness and reseat them.
