S46 (S47) news?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I heard all the news about the launch a couple of months ago, but nothing since. This is the TDMA / GSM phone. I think it changed from S47 to S46 a while back.

Anyone know anything new on this phone? Especially release dates & prices?

Great!

Any info on the phone itself? Will it be like the S40? If not, how different and what are the specs?

Also who will carry it? any chance of AT&T?

Thanks again!

I am thinking about switching to either Voicestream or ATT. Looks like you had VS. What didn't you like about it? I am in the Washington, DC area.

Actually I'm with AT&T right now and deciding whether to go VS or not. I'm expecting my unlocked VS 3390 tomorrow (thanks Timmeh) and I'm gonna go VS prepaid to decide on service.

My suggestion is this: If you like to change phones and like better quality calls but do stay within big cities more often, go VS! The plans are better and the 39.99 3000 anytime minutes CAN'T BE BEAT!!

If you don't have great cell signal or to travel a lot, AT&T might be better. The TDMA phones have slightly worse quality and you can't change phones easily but you can go out to the top of some remote mountain on horseback and have a better chance of getting a good signal.

I'd go to your local area store with AT&T and VS to compare signal. Both companies will let you sign a full contract and a week later come back and tell them you changed your mind. Most companies should let you try a working phone. Tell both VS and AT&T you are thinking about them and the other company...they should try to give you stuff to make you sign with them.

Good luck.

No info on the specs or how the phone will look. They've been pretty tight lip about it. I'm in contact with someone that is supposedly going to get a test phone, but we'll see.
