Using AT&T phone w/ Cingular SIM?

Hi, I still have my AT&T X426 with a deactivated SIM card. Can I use the phone or SIM card with Cingular? Can I put a Cingular SIM card in the phone?

It's ok if I can't use my old AT&T phone.

I'm thinking of buying the Samsung X497 or Nokia 6061 in a few months.

If it is unlocked then yes it will work fine. You might need to input the MMS/WAP settings. If it is locked then it won't work.

I have another question. I've been reading about the blue and orange network. Will my new phone show which network I am connected to?

Blue phones only work with blue sims, and orange phones with orange sims. They're not interchangeable...

Blue is the old ATT network, Orange is the old Cingular network. By the end of the year they will be one and the same.

yea i wish i could use my cingular sim in my dads old att phones for work but it wouldnt work for me...

I have one more question. Do the latest phones have the Cingular theme as a ringtone? Just wondering. The theme sounds cool. lol
