New Battery for Razr 3.7 Volts?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am hearing that there is a new battery for the razr and many people say that it has fixed the buzz on the razr and also increases talk time. If this is true, should I buy one? Mine is 3.6 volts and I was wondering if this is a significant increase to warrant spending 50 dollars on a new motorola battery?

If anyone can shed some light on this situation, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I dropped my v3 this morning and I was wondering how sensitive these phones really are because mine is still working

I've dropped my razr many times and it still works perfectly. contrary to what i've heard its a sturdy phone.

as far as the battery, i havent heard anything but i suggest you post this in the motorola forum on hofo, you might get more responses about it there.

do you mean the new razr batteries which are black instead of white?

Posted by: generalthade

yeah, I was wondering if purchasing those batteries will get rid of the buzzing sound because I heard it was caused by the battery voltage? Have I been getting the wrong information about this or is this true?

well i have had the newer razr made on march 10 and have used the white batteries and have had no problems but it did come with the black one which also no problems...

These Li-on battery are rated 3.7v but range between 3.5v to 4.2v depending on charge level. I doubt it will be the magic cure for buzzing issue since the voltage going into the phone is regulated. so regardless of what the battery's voltage is, phone is seeing a constant voltage.

thanks steph

I thought so but then I heard people saying that the new battery might be the cure. I just didnt see the point in spending close to 50 dollars for a battery when I really feel that the buzzing comes from the 850 network.

I just had my RAZR replaced under warranty for lint under the screen (received a brand new RAZR in retail box) - it has a different battery than my original RAZR. It's black with a big white Motoroloa logo on it. Says "BR50", 3.7V Lithium Ion Battery.

I didn't really notice any buzz with my old battery, so don't know if this one "fixes" anything.

The battery has no effect on the buzzing sound everyone is talking about. If it did then it would be just like saying that if your battery is low then it effects your reception & that is not true.

The 3.7v battery are being put into the RAZRs made as of January 1, 2006.

also, you can get the br50 batteries from ebay for around 10 bux.

I just got a new razr from warrenty as well. Did you send back all your old stuff (battery, charger, etc). The slip just says the handset but I didn't want to get into a s#!^fight about not sending it all...
