How does "upgrading" on an ERP account work?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

for those ppl that work at 3rd party or radioshack are giving lines with no contract. actually in pos contract length shows -98months. and it show eligible for upgrade. im wondering if i upgrade my phone if it will automatically put me in contract, or it will just say upgradable again. Im thinking about getting a new phone but dont wanna go from no contract to contract. And i know you your gonna say ask your rep, but trust me ill be lucky to do that, as the guy never picks up his phone. thanks

Anyone else heard of this? Radioshack will likely have a huge issue with chargebacks from Cingular if this is going on. There is no way Cingular is paying commission to Radio Shack on upgrades where there was not a contract extension processed. What's in it for Cingular?

No, ERP lines cannot be upgraded, since there is no contract. When you try it will say "not available for this type of account" or something along those lines.

if you do upgrade your ERP...your contract will be renewed...i am a radioshack employee and we dont have a contract...but we can get a phone at a discounted rate without a contract...and these prices are close to customers prices or lower.

Check the last post...ERPs have no contract attached, and can't be upgraded.

You can really get new contract prices on phones without a contract when working at Radio Shack? Curse you handsome devils!!!

Sorry but no. ERP lines are not eligible for any phone discounts from Cingular. Perhaps Radio Shack is giving you a discount but it is not from Cingular.

so lets say i was to upgrade through my program. that means i have to renew my contract and be stuck for 2 years? so your saying all agents are always buying phones at full price?

If you have a contract, then you do not have an ERP phone. ERPs cannot be renewed because there is nothing to renew. Once you leave cingular.. your ERP is done. Unless Cingular has something different for Radio Shack employees.

i have never "bought" any of the phones i have.. < just picked up an 8125 >

i simply "demo" them for a long time

Radioshack probably gets ANR rate plans and lines which are very much upgradable. Only stipulation is if you leave the agent you work for you get a retail plan with no free goodies from Cingular.

hmm do they really report terminated employees to cingular to take them off the rate plan? i know quite a few ppl who are still on the verizon and sprint plans and they havent been with rs for a year

And you signed a contract?

Posted by: cache_return

well, I called online ordering and had them send me a z520a because I was eligible for upgrade. That's it. Now when I look online or ask on the phone it says I have two years left in contract.

I left Radioshack about a month ago and no one has pulled wither of my plans (sprint nor cingular) but who knows...I did leave because of incompetance

The manager of the employee has to report the termination to NEAS I believe, and if they dont they (employee) could have the plan for awhile until the accounts are audited (about once a year)

I have no idea how this works with agents.

So you have a contract saying you will pay nothing for the next two years? Or do non COR employees have to pay x amount?

it's the radioshack plan = $25 a month. I am assuming there is a sneaky clause in there somewhere that reverts to my original price plan if I leave radioshack.
