I didn't want to put this up in the phone section since its TDB, or hear/write anybody complain.

But, DAMN....

sku 64449
2 yr $299.99
1 yr $369.99

And by Christmas, it'll be $49.99/2yr...

Posted by: SpeshulEd

nah but itll prolly be 149.99 2 year by then

Wow.That's amazingly high. So I'm guessing Cingular doesn't want this to be the new "Black" Razr, ie. 199 w/ a contract.

It's a big step up from the old RAZR. This one might actually be worth purchasing.

This probaly means it has iTunes, and that it has a mail in rebate that is not being shown in internal documents.

Big step up my booty! Don't care about that, it's still only a spruced up version of a phone that damn near everybody has bought already, and this is how they are pricing it?

Excuse me they have a unlocked/unbranded V3i or sites like mobilebee.com that is only about $307.00 and unlocked phones I've come to expect to be at least maybe $100 to $200 more pricey than branded phones released through service providers. Never saw ANY phone by ANY provider come close to actually being more expensive than what people say is the more desirable usually unlocked and unbranded ones. That's sheer nonsense, but I guess it makes sense to you. And for the record iTunes (blah!) whatever, sure doesn't justify that price that was quoted. Get over the fascination with iTunes, it doesn't make this phone worth over $300 or $400 bucks.

Eh whatever if they DO actually price the phone thus, it's their funeral, and it will be to thier own shame if they have any. Later

Not for real... they price it this to get all the early adapters out of the way and then of course you will see the price start to come down... so just relax!!

It makes perfect sense to me. Supply and demand.

Then again we had cusromers willing to pay 600 for the pink razr when tmobile released it.

We will be hard pressed to keep the V3i's in stock regardless of the price.

Once that rush is over, then us common folk will be able to grab one

Sounds good to me SoCal. And thank you Cingular1977.

Go browse eBay my friend. People pay top dollars for Cingular branded SLVR L7 because it has iTune, it wouldn't surprise me when Cingular release the V3i for $299 w/2-year contract and the people are willing to pay $400+ on eBay.

Hey, I hear what you're saying Allen7, but that's just sheer insanity to me, it really is. Believe me I know that does go on, I don't understand it mind you, but it goes on nontheless. Oh well, no accounting for both taste and common sense. Peace bro.

I see mobilebee.com is selling the V3i with T-Mobile (unlocked if I'm reading it correctly) on a 2 year contract for $168. That looks tempting, except T-Mobile's coverage is lacking in remote areas, and that's important for me.

Actually, I've seen the v3i going for $260-270 (including shipping) on eBay. So, buy it from eBay and you'll get a lower price than you would from Cingular and no contract extenstion! Never seen that before.
