Bye Bye Telegence/CARE

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: the falls

So from what i hear, Telegence and CARE will be leaving soon, and will be replaced with a new system. Has anyone heard anymore about this new billing system?

Posted by: NukuCamui

Havent heard anything about this. They just upgraded telegence, why get rid of it?

Posted by: the falls

Well because its old? and they want 1 system for all markets i guess... I'm not sure, this is supposedly still atleast 6 months away.

Posted by: steva

I'm sure it will be far. cingular just spent all that energy converting blue accounts to telegence and care, and it's not even complete yet. then they'd have to convert all the account...too much of a hassle/cost.

I don't believe that is correct, at least not in the immediate future.

Posted by: the falls

well 2 weeks ago in a resource meeting one of the resource managers said telegence was leaving soon, then today i asked a floor mgr and she said that yes telegence and care were both leaving and they would be replaced with a new system called something along the lines of Orbit... but that was still about 6 months away.

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

telegence is going to comeback. its gonna go to areas where care was placed.

or so i "heard"

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

integrations going to happen soon enough for blue/orange and supposedly telegence is replacing care.

if those of you who used telegence remember, here was a nationwide login for telegence to other markets. just imagine that but all over the us.

frankly, i like telegence over opus.

i miss telegence/compass

I miss it too.. I could get things done so fast.

I've heard Oracle? is coming back. Inventory? Someone from blue clue me in

Posted by: KikoKazuma

I heard they were being replaced as well, but nooooo time soon. I think I heard the new system would be called Pheonix, but I may be thinking of something else...

Posted by: Soopafly

According to Ralph, we are keeping Telegence and CARE. Though some legacy CARE markets will be converted to Telegence.

We will get NBI eventually though for cross-market...

Posted by: stevOh

Soopafly is exactly right. NBI will be a national (and yes Cross Billing Market) for Telegence.

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

so we're going back to telegence and compass?

Posted by: ungratefulninja

I'm certainly not a fan of OPUS, but for a point-of-sale I think it's superior to compass. If I don't need to ring anything out, I would prefer telegence. It has a steeper learning curve, but I think it's generally quicker for doing small things.

Posted by: anubis9278

ummm...we are keeping telegence and CARE until name change, like Q2 2007. then there is something new coming, one universal system. it was mention earlier but hell i wasn't paying attention.

we need to go back to the green screen dial-in oasys.

Posted by: the falls

ok well i got a little more clarification today on what exactly will be happening and when... it seems actually the change will be coming in May of this year and the system is called Orbit, it will not be a telegence replacement, but a new front end kind of thing if you will, I'm not sure who all will be getting this new program... but i do know that RM will have it, and its going to do things like automate dates for payment arrangements and such so that you can just give the customer a system generated option of when to make a payment and they can take it or leave it... thats the kind of things that its supposed to do. i guess we'll see in the next six or so weeks.

why not just go back to simply calling C&A? oh wait, i did that with my dealer

i just hope to GOD its pretty much like telegence. i love telegence. it doesnt take much to learn telegence for what you're supposed to do. theres other higher stuff that you can learn, but probably shouldnt.

i miss compass. i loved it. i dislike closing multiple registers.

According to Ralph de Vega we are keeping Telegence and CARE... he said it right in front of me at a meeting.

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

just convert all markets to telegence.

give us telegence back.

so much nicer,easier.

nothing competes with telegence.

Posted by: suicidal2af

Vision beats telegence

Not as pretty or easy to use, but hellaciously faster once you learn it.

That said, our billing systems are obscenely hard to learn. :/

Posted by: stevOh

lol... Pheonix was an old mobile application to update firmware on Nokia handsets. Not a billing system.

I can see CARE going away as easily as bellsouths absorbtion, but Telegence is a marvelous piece of programming. Im amazed at how easily modular it really is. With enough effort It could probably have it billing my gas at a local station in realtime.
Seriously though, everything will be one giant market, with all that cross billing fun, working out of the box. Telegence is hear to stay.

I have no problem with Telegence. I love working in telegence only as a CSR. Calls go by so much faster, dont have to wait for numbers to populate......

Now...on the other hand....I DISPISE Clarify!!! Its like they are trying to make a front end for Telegence when all it should be for is notes, and validation. Instead they make it show late balance (Which is pointless, only shows on the main screen, after validation you dont get it again) its SLOW because they are tyring to CRAM everything in there. They should just have a running note add on to telegence, and wham...would be nice.

Just my two cents

BTW just having one system would be nice, less effect on transfers because "Oh im sorry, I cant pull up your account. Yes Im customer care, but your in the wrong center"

I am with that on that. I HATE CLARIFY. I can verify info in Telegence or Care. I personally like CARE better than TELEGENCE because you dont have to keep refreshing and there are less errors with CARE.

Telegence and Care are not going anywhere. The new system that you are talking about is a system that has been used by AT&T for years and it blows away every system that Cingular has. It's called CACS-T and it's run by Orbit. This is strictly a collection system used by RM. It auto-generates past due notices, final demand letters, and outbound calls. It also allows you to enter promise to pays in a very simplistic way so you don't have to deal with the next step crap in Telegence. It will automatically suspend a past due account with no active promise and suspend accounts with broken promises. It is set up with pre-defined collection steps based on the customer's credit class so that it will take a delinquent account through the entire collection process automatically, from suspend to cancel to write off/charge off. It also has worklists so that reps can review accounts based on specific criteria and take the necessary action. If you're in RM then you will love this system. Now if only they would get rid of Clarify.

Posted by: the falls

if they did get rid of clarify... which they wont i really would be in heaven. but i have a feeling they spent wayyyy too much money to get rid of it now. and what was the deal on april 1st? telegence was sporadic at best, there were periods when we couldnt do anything especialy with NYR, HCL markets they wouldnt even come up at all, then clarify started crashing... maybe it was a horrible IT april fools day joke but i welcome anything that would make the RM job easier.

Posted by: KikoKazuma

Clarify = ghey as hell, period. cts + tracker owns clarify
Telegence = cool when it comes to adding features, sucks with notations and no auto-refresh
Care = not bad, lacks the easiness of adding features like telegence does

Posted by: KevinACrider

I personally find Clarify to be completely useless. Telegence is ok, horrible coding structure though.

Siebel???

lol j/k

Posted by: KaBaL666

RSM's can still use CARE.

Posted by: Satchel

The latest update is that the system will be called COMMET for Orange and will remain CACS-T for Blue. They will both be run off of Orbit and the user interface may be a little different, although very similar. I will be doing Red Hat support during the launch. Red Hat training for the system begins next week in anticipation of the launch during the last week of April and the first week of May. It should be interesting.
