I bought an 8700r one month ago. (I did try a 6280 for one day before that).
As an excercise tonight - I switched from my 8700 back to a 7280 for a few hours. (I have an extra 7280 that I got for my wife on HUP; but she decided she didn't want it - I'm going to keep it as a spare)
I noticed three things with the 7280:
1) The 7280 keyboard is still so much better - even after a month I'm still making errors on the 8700
2) Wow this thing is SLOW compared to the 8700 !!!!
3) I can't hear any of the tones or alerts on the 7280. I've got moderate to serious high-frequency hearing loss (I can't hear watch beeps or high frequency tones very well).
p.s. - I didn't really notice a big difference in web browsing speed - while EDGE is a little nicer I suppose on the 8700 - I wouldn't have bought it just for that; on a day-to-day basis it's just not that important.

I actually prefer the keyboard on the 8700r compared to my old 7280 and 7290.

I'm used to my 8700c's keyboard. The 7290's is nicer but I don't feel any urge or need to switch back.

But the size difference in the 8700c is worth the sacrific of keyboard size.

What about using the screen in daylight. A huge plus for the 8700.
