So for you who are quitting what is it that you hate about the job so much? Is it just fact that it's retail and retail is hard to do for any length of time?

I'm just curious...I've got an upcoming interview at Cingular and as much as I dislike my current job I don't want to step in to a situation that is extremely hard to work in...

it definetly takes a "certain type" of person to handle retail for a long period lol....I've been doing this for 5 1/2 years and while there are days I HATE it, I mostly enjoy people I deal with and make more money than alot of my friends with degrees....But to each his own. Do I see myself doing this the rest of my life? HECK no! But for now it works for me

i didn't quit because of pay.

i'm quitting because of the direction my store is headed to. just isnt the same as before. i enjoyed it then, and now not so.

I wouldn't worry too much about it...Alfred is just in a poor situation. His particular store and circumstance are not the norm in this industry. If you get in with a decent Agent, it could turn out to be a great move. I have been with 2 agents over 9 years and have had great success, great fun, and met some terrific people. Everyday is a challenge, and everday is fun. Well, most everday Plus, the people skills you will gain will help you in anything else you do.

I'm not looking at Agents...not that I wouldn't consider it but it's hard to research on them and so I dont want to end up at a crappy one. My interview's gunna be at a corp store.

Well, get ready to tow the company line then. And I wouldn't count out an anal probe, either.
