I successfully linked the bitpim to my LG VX4400 and transferred the phone
book, removed the Verizon banner, and seemingly transferred over new
wallpaper and ringtones. However, even though i see the wallpaper and
ringtones on my phone and i choose them as defaults, they don't show
up. When i choose a wallpaper, it says that the new wallpaper is
saved and in use, but the background is just white and the title at
the bottom is not the new title. the same thing happens with
ringtones. both the wallpaper and ringtones are ON my phone and in
the correct folders in bitpim, but when chosen and confirmed by the
phone, they do not appear or work. i'm stumped.

you need to add a directory named 'shared' under the brew directroy under the filesystem to add wallpapers. for images and ringtones, i'm still searching

got it, make a directory 'user' under the root directory, then a 'sound' directory in the user, and a 'ringer' directory in that. you should be able to then upload sounds and ringtones :-)
