Hi,

I have 2000 Accord V6 and I get this really weird noise whenever I turn the steering wheel after running the engine for a little while. It's like a loud buzzing noise, seems like came from t-belt pulley area. This thing also make unusual engine rev sound at 3-4K RPMs. Now, my car is not as smooth as it was. Milleage is around 85K. Can somebody help me with this problem please??

Thanks in advance!

Low on power steering fluid? You can also put your ear on a prybar on each accessory that the belt goes around and see witch one is making the noise. (while car is running so be carefull)

It could be several things. It could be something wrong with the steering system. You might need a new belt. Most cars need their belts replace around 90,000 to 120,000. Also check the steering fluid levels.

How far do you have to crank the wheel to hear the noise? Only a little? Full turn?

I hear the noises while the engine runs. Power steering fluids is fine, I asked Jiffy Lube to top it off for me on last oil change. Seems like the noise is coming from the very top of the engine block, around pulley area (those belts). I'll try to take pictures and if I can, record the video of it. Does anybody have any idea what's wrong with my car??

Have you replaced the timing belt yet? I know you're supposed to do that at 100,000 and you aren't there yet, but if it's coming from that area...

As far as the rev sound goes... maybe one of the pistons is misfiring? Kinda sounds like that to me

I haven't replaced the T-belt yet, maybe later in 100K or so, but I don't think I'm gonna keep this car after 100K. I bought the car last year as certified used (it was 75K miles) and the dealer told me they have changed everything in the car, including t-belt. It doesn't happen all the times, it only happens after the engine running for about an hour.

Pistons misfiring??? never heard of that term. Do you mean the sparkplugs??

My buddy had this, it ended up being the bushings, check those out

Did you try the prybar thing? There is a good chance that one of your accessories has noisy bearings. Idler pully, alternator, waterpump, power steering check everything the belt goes around.
When you turn the wheel you are putting a load power steering that is putting more tension on the belt and all the eccessories so if one has bad bearings than it could get louder with more stress on it.
I might not have explained too good about the prybar.
Run the car take something like a large prybar press it on the housing of each eccessory and put your ear on the handle.

I will try them with hammers tomorrow, don't have any prybars.
