A chance? Yes.

Will it come any time soon? Doubtful.

If it is on the roadmap I wouldnt expect to see it til June/July.

I will be ordering one next week once my old phones close on eBay. Unbranded is the way to go. Im just looking for the best seller at the moment.

I would guess a more likely destination for this phone is T-Mobile. Cingular seems to have already invested themselves in the i-Tunes Motorola phones with currently offering the ROKR E1 and the SLVR, and soon the V3i. Look for Cingluar to get the ROKR E2. I wouldn't even be surprised if no American carrier picked up the W810i and Sony-Ericsson just sells it unlocked from their website like they did with the W800i.

The only problem with unbranded, is that for those of us who are heavy AIM users, we are SOL if we get an unbranded phone. There is no way to put the Cingular AIM program onto an unlocked phone.

I see they are available on ebay now. Isn't that usually a sign that they will be released very soon. Though maybe not for Cingular.

Unlocked at $500+ is it worth it?

...wait a minute, people still us AIM . Seriously, though,it's a quad-band phone; get it unlocked and unbranded. Cingular's firmware, customization, and logo will ruin what might otherwise be a pimp phone.

Yea seriously. Plus you can AIM over SMS, or get a java app to chat with that works better than the built in version and uses data (Great for us on U/L MediaWorks).

If I can get the phone for $500 out the door I will. You have to pay a price as an early adopter. It has been officaly released in SouthEast asia.

Do yo think the ones on sale on ebay the real deal or are they maybe the prototypes?

I would love love love to have this phone. I just got the 6682 from compusa, but i am not sure i need all the pda stuff and the camera cover bugs me. Keeps opening too easily. w810i is the best of all worlds for me, quad band, removable storage, smaller design, better keypad layout....just to name a few!

Real. They have production boxes and live photos if you look around.

Im optomistist this phone will be picked up by cingular as some retail internal documents list the phone as coming soon, as some one thought it wouldnt be picked up due to cingulars interest in itunes phones, its no different than the current w600i walkman phone that cingular is supporting, there not swaying one way or the other on who provides there players in there manufactures phones, i think we will see more Walkmen phones more Iunes phones etc etc...I found the W810 for 599.99 minus 10.00 for 589.99 (HOFO) groupcode discount on wirelessimports.com from which i bought my itunes Razor, i might consider it..
