This is the faceplate but we do have the full housing instructions

http://www.gyvergear.com/PayPal/Raz...ateinstall.html

It is difficult only if you don't have the inside frame already glued to the faceplate--if you have to glue the frame you have to make sure that it is lined up properly or you've messed it up completely. also, if you have to glue the inside frame to the faceplate there are 4 gold screw sockets that you have to "press" into the frame before you glue it--It can be quite labor intensive as well as frustrating. However, if the frame is attached already, then it is REALLY easy.

thanks fellows .. u guys are awsome

Thats the purpose of the forum Q and A

I'm thinking about changing my faceplate to my silver T-Mobile RAZR. A V3c custom faceplate wouldn't fit on mine would it?

And is there any websites you all would recommend to search for reliable face-plates? The search function is broken so I couldn't search the site, sorry.

the v3c faceplates and battery doors are different.

Posted by: Khryz

Would you recommend even changing the faceplates/full housings on the RAZR or do you think it's a bad idea and will lead to the phone never working correctly again (which I heard from other people that changes their housings on other phones).

The most I would change is the faceplate with battery door.

You will void the phone with a housing change.

Most people are using skins or the covers to get a different look.

But some have dropped and kicked the phone so they need a new housing.
LOL

I like the covers you can change them when ever you want.
and they come in the same colors.

so does your vinyl coverings for the v3i actually do the phone justice or does it look a bit cheesy, honestly??? also , wouldnt it be difficult to install perfectly straight? I'm looking ot change the look of my V3i but without warranty issues. I'm thinking about custom paint covers and battery with an airbrush piece of the front. Can anyone reliable do this?

Posted by: Khryz

So the faceplate with the battery door is fine and easy to do and won't mess with the warranty, but changing the entire housing is difficult and foolish? I gotcha.

The vinyl really looks like it is made on the phone after a day or two.

the protectors are also nice and you can change when ever you want.

If you need your warranty i would only do a protector of FacePlate

The v3c housings are not coming anytime soon because of faceplates and the protectors. the people can change the look of their phone without
taking the phone apart. so the vendors do not want to spend the big money making the housings right now. But i think someone will. Stay tuned.

A Vendor called us and said that they are thinking about making
the v3c housings but it might be a few months.

I think they are 3 to 4 weeks away

Posted by: GyverGear

Instead of changing the faceplates and housings everyone seems to be just getting the shield/protectors

Posted by: dingus890

Yeah but they don't look as rich and nice as the metal type housing.

but they are a nice alternative.

Posted by: mhoran89

they make a silicone shield/protector thing now that is commonly used on an ipod. looks awsome and will give the phone a ton of extra protection . . . im gonna get one lol

Posted by: jessebitz

Gyver, Do you have any close ups of the carbon fiber skin on a razr v3? Thank you Jesse

Posted by: dingus890

I just got the Speck cloud for my RAZR V3c,and it is really cool!TONS of protection and looks unique

Did you need a close up on the protector or skin?

Posted by: GyverGear

Posted by: jessebitz

Thank you and no thank you, I needed a picture of the skin. I have already purchased the carbon fiber skin and put it on my razr and it looked great so i purchased the same thing for my ipod.

We have a new site with instructions and software at
RazrCentral.com

Is also a good one, with good pictures.

just make sure you dont get the cheap Ebay housings that dont have the holes for the screws installed and need to be taken off the OEM housing. You will have to do the same with the mesh for the speakers, and the plastic pieces where the silver buttons rest.......I learned the hard way. Better to go with the CNN.NN OEM housing

Posted by: Timsta

cnn isn't too bad in shipping either.. i get my stuff from them at times.. within 1.5 weeks

Posted by: GyverGear

Who is CNN.NN?

Posted by: Cory949

It's CNN.CN on the web. Good prices and selection of cell phone parts...

What the heck kind of glue do I use for the frame??

Posted by: jbzcar

I tried some superglue and that didn't work worth a flip, no pun intended.

I two-part epoxyed the sucker when I got home tonight.

Posted by: CBakes

ok i have a question about housing since i just purchased a V3 on Ebay (Black) i would like to two-tone it with a black outer housing mixed and matched with a silver inner housing ( i think they may make razrs to begin with like this), the question is do thay make the inner housing that surrounds the keyboard and LCD out of plastic for OEM? because i have noticed on my razr and it feels like plastic inside and metal outside housing. I would like to know because plastic housing is like half the price of metal and all i need is the silver inside housing so idc if they give me plastic outer housing pieces. Can ne 1 help? ( plastic housing OEM)?

Posted by: loizzo

if you want to make your own outside skins then go to instructables.com and search for the post "ipod skin". It teaches you to easily make your own skins from materials in the garbage!
