Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/146)
Over the last few months, I have really become accustomed to my 8700C. Of course, I always prefer a black (or as close as I can get) phone, and unbranded is even better, so I was thrilled when I received my unbranded 8700G. A couple of issues: 1) My Vaja classic case for the 8700C arrived Thursday, and because of the slightly different layout of the G, it doesn't fit properly. It looks fine, but it squeezes the ESC button permanently, so none of the other buttons work. Sucks. 2) The phone is branded by Yes Optus? I assume they make software? I don't know. Not a big deal other than the Yes Optus boot screen, and by far the most annoying....my WAP browser icon has been replaced by a lame square Yes icon that says "zoo." What's lame about it is it is big and out of place, and has a white border to obviously blend with a NOT included Yes theme, so it looks ridculous.
So, how do I change it? LAME!!

Optus is an Austrailian wireless service provider.
Doesn't sound like your phone is "unbranded."

You are correct! RIM sent it to me for my review unit, and indeed it does appear to be Optus branded, although it was factory unlocked. I would love to keep this phone, but I must be rid of this silly Optus garbage. When the T-Mo version comes out next month, will there be a way to load a T-Mo flex on here or something?
