i am new here and i want to flash my phone, V3C from the 03 version to the 02 to reenable the OBEX feature. i have been looking around the forum and the website but i can't seem to find what is needed for the flash (i tried the search but i know it is down). I already have the 02 firmware i guess i just need the software for flashing and the drivers for the phone.

please help and thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Go here for deatailed info..this is were you want to learn from, this is the guide I read, made it very clear and easy. Only problem is obtaining all the files...but once that is done, its a very simple process.

RSD Lite. This program is used to flash/flex the phone, and is only available in authorized Motorola Service Centers.

P2K Drivers. These are the drivers you will need to install in order to have your PC recognize your phone. More on these later when we go over the install process.

AlZip (1.8 MB direct link). This is a good, free compression/uncompression program. If you already have WinZip or WinRar or some other program for this, you don't need this file. If you don't know what those are, you need this.

Flash/Flex File. You will also need a flash/flex file to update your phones software/firmware, but we will get to that later. For now, just be aware we'll be getting one soon.

For now, download all the files, but DON'T INSTALL ANYTHING YET. Once you have obtained all the needed files, go ahead and check out the Flash tutorial under this message to get started connecting your phone to your computer! If the Flash file hasn't loaded yet, give it a sec--its 3 MB, so a little bit of load time is expected! If you can't view Flash, go here to download the plugin for your browser. If, for whatever reason, you need to use the illustrated guide instead of the Flash version, now worries--there's a link to it under the Flash presentation.

Thanks for all of the info fortunately i figured it out on my own before i got your reply...so i have it all flashed now with the 02 version but I have run into a different problem now I was doing the "downgrade" so i could use OBEX but for some reason I can't access the multimedia studio in MPT so how do I get to transfer files between my comp and my phone?

Ok i have been doing alot of reading on the net trying to figure this out and something that i am starting to notice is that OBEX is mentioned with bluetooth, so does that mean that obex only applies if using bluetooth? I am using a usb cable for my setup. If obex is only for BT then how do i go about transfering files with my USB connection?
