Recently out of the blue my phone sets off the alarms in Target and CVS? Can I get them to demagnetize it or will that mess stuff up?

In the 8 years that I have been associated with the wireless industry, I have never heard of a cell phone setting off a store's theft alarm.

my wife's old phone used to do it also. It is odd becuase we both have RAZR and only mine does it. I literally handed my phone to the security lady walked through without a beep, then held my phone and it beeped again.

I'm a retail manager for Pac sun and every once in a blue moon we get people that walk in with no packages and with a cell phone in hand.. so we just ask if they bought anything in the mall.. they so no.. we tell them sorry and log the number in the sensormatic book as cell phone..

It may not be the phone. I had this problem once and thought it was the phone, very annoying. Happened one day and smart security office in a store found the problem. There was a tiny security tag buried inside the fleece jacket I had also recently purchased. He demagnetized it for me and I never had a problem again! He also said that cell phones/personal electronics don't set off these security systems. Don't know if that part is true.

my brothers v600 used to do that all the time. We thought it was something on his keychain or wallet so the one time we asked the guy who owned it if we could keep doing it by process of elimination. turned out to be the phone, but it only happens at certain stores.

Anyone figured this out yet? GF ordered a Razr from Verizon and it has set off alarms at Walmart, Linens & Things, Bloomingdales, The Limited, Target, Arden B to name a few. It is the phone as it was tested at The Limited, no phone, no alarm, phone on person alarm goes off.

Very Fnning annoying to say the least. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
