I just purchased the Linx M2688. The phone is set in another language that I cannot understand. Hoping someone could help me figure out a quick and easy way to set the phone to English? Any response would help. Thank you all!

I bought one several months ago while vacationing in Hong Kong. In case you don't have a Chinese friend, language selection is: Menu (slider open, left ... softkey), Settings (4), Phone Setup (1), Language (3), English (1).

Now if anyone can find sync software that will recognize multiple numbers/address/ringtones per phonebook entry rather than the basic single name/number pair, I'd be super greatfull!

Other than that, I've grown to appreciate this phone quite a bit. It's smaller than a RAZR, looks elegant, fits in my pant pocket great (forget I have it sometimes!) and though battery life isn't too great, I've found the "2 hr" quoted talk time lasts about as long as the "8.5hrs" quoted for my SonyEricsson W600i. Due to the W600i's bulk, it's been lying unused for the last month. If only there had been more 'slim' choices with Cingular earlier on...

Anyways, sometimes it's fun to have a phone that almost no one has heard about :-)

I had one for about a month. Its sits in the box, cause its gets bad signal where i am (SE Ma) Hopefully there is a way to make it better

Hmm, haven't noticed any real difference in signal quality, and works well enough within DC.

It does go into 'Emergency' mode somewhat. The other phones I've tried (SonyEricsson W600i, Z520a, and some Samsung originally from T-Mobile) don't and in spotty areas show more bars... until you try to dial, and then the bars go down and the signal drops often enough. I've done my informal testing, and judging by call quality/drops rather than bars displayed, I can't tell much difference.

Then again, going off-topic, near the 3 places most important to me (home, work, girlfriend), every phone I've tried (Verizon, Cingular, T-Mobile) is pretty close to useless. Frustrating. Finally looked up tower placement, and it's clear I should have tried Sprint, but all my friends told me to avoid them.
