What Ringtone(s) Do You Use?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am just curious as to which ringtones people use on their Treos. And, do you use more than one. Say, one for people in your contact list and another for non.

I would also be interested to know if you use a special program for your ringtones, such as Ringo and if you primarily use your phone for business, school or just pleasure.

I am not sure how many may remember Get Smart (check my phone type and provider) but I am using the Get Smart ringtone for non-listed contacts and a special Bagpipes ringtone for my listed contacts.

I use Ringo Pro for this purpose. My favorite ringtone is the one converted to "Hello Treo" from "Hello Moto" mp3. I think I found that on one of the forums, probably Treocentral. I have assigned to a short list of people their own ringtones. The rest ring with Hello Treo mp3.

I use Mring. My known caller tone is "Life Hymn In Dub" by Omnimotion, and my unknown caller tone is "Breathe" by Telepopmusik. I have a bunch of other ringtones too, most of them techno, hehe. I make my own tones, I take the best parts of the songs & trim the fat so they're about 30-50 seconds long & slap them on my card.

A few more that I have;

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger/Daft Punk

Flaming June/BT

Halloween theme

Honey/Billy Ray Martin

Sanfor & Son theme

"Rubber Johnny" song/Aphex Twin

Somnambulist/BT

Your Blue Eyes/Bad Loop

God help me if I ever get sued by the music industry, I have enough tampered-with copyrighted material on my phone to put my butt in jail.

I use the same ringtones that CTU uses in the show 24 with Jack Bauer. The problem is that when I am watching the show and the phone on the show rings, I reach for mine.

Thank you for your input everyone. I knd of figured there are as many different ringtones being used as there are individuals, that is why I was interested.

I tried Ringo several years ago whe I bought my first Treo, the 180. Unfortunately it kept "crashing" my phone so I uninstalled it. I suppose I should be fair and give it another try.

I believe I found it trought Treobits but "old-timers" makes it impossible to be sure. Do a search over at Treobits and see what you find. I do know it was free!

I think I have only seen that show once or twice and even then not the whole thing but I have read that they generally have some pretty cool tech devices on it. I will have to check out that ringtone.

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. That is why there there are so many ringtones available out there.

Just as a side note, one of my all-time favourites is Mission Impossible II. I have that one set specifically for my Boss. When he calls it is usually for something close to that!!!

Aww... That's so sweet, I'm gonna cry here! I won't lie, I probably do have more stuff on my Treo than 99% of all other Treo owners... What can I say, I love the thing!

Posted by: Big Johnny T

i i was wondering if the treo 650 takes voice ringer if so what formats tahnks

Posted by: dapastaguy

I use ringo pro to handle my ringtones, all stored on the SD card, and have several personal ringtones set:

Wife - My Girl (Temptations)
Son #1 - Get Smart
Son #2 - Speed Racer
Office - Dragnet Theme - (dum da dum dum)
George - new shooter coming out qoute from the movie Con Air
Brother #1 - the theme from the Zelda video game
Brother #2 - Scenes from an Italain Restaurant (Billy Joel)
Default Ringtone - Ain't That A Kick in The Head (Dean Martin)
Message Tone - 3 Stooges Hello, Hello, Hello
Family Message Tone - Message for you sir from Monty Python & The Holy Grail

You should see the looks at the bank when the office tone goes off.

I have one that says "I fart in your general direction!"

I just made a couple of new NIN tones, you should see people's faces when those go off. One has swears, I guess I should probably edit that one a bit :/

I got mine from this website: http://mythemes.tv/

Get Smart is there along with just about every other TV show you can imagine: Andy Griffith, Magnum, McGyver, etc and so on

I've added only one ringtone to my 650 - the first part of the theme from "The Twilight Zone". I use this as my alert for messages - I think it's quite fitting for this to signify that I have "a message from beyond."
I like how well this one works - a fast enough beat to be easily noticed, and since it is mostly mid to high notes the small speaker reproduces it well.

Posted by: esmassas

Normally I like pop music ringtones - so I look on the net for midi for free and download - if they are wav I also can download them onto my treo. If they are mp3 I download but they take up alot of space once I convert them to wav.
