I have the Japanese firmware for the 703shf, i was wondering if how you guys sort your contacts or if you even have any problems. From what I've read in another earlier thread, there's a different sorting method that this f/w uses so it doesn't sort by alphabetically. Finding the number i want to call through the messy phonebook is kinda annoying, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You need to fill out the reading field of each entry with the full name of the contact. The phonebook is sorted alphabetically by this field. This is because the phonebook is optimised for sorting Japanese names, not English ones.

Thx AL9999!!! It works now =D just a lot of copy and pasting... Another question though, when you input a letter in the search bar, does it bring you to the name starting with that letter? It's not working for me for some reason... thanks!!!

As far as I know it's supposed to bring you to a name with a reading starting with the letter, but I'm not sure as I haven't used the Japanese firmware before. Maybe someone else here can help out...

Nevermind, I figured it out by playing with it... The letter has to be capital, matching what I input for the reading so it wasn't working when I type in lower case letters. Thanks though!

Ah fair enough, it's case sensitive then, makes sense
