Cant get Treo 650 to acess the internet at all

I just bought a cingular treo 650 that I had unlocked to use with T-mobile. T-mobile put me on a smart access plan. So I don't have data on my plan yet but when I put my wifes Sim cardfrom her Sidekick(With data Plan) in my treo I still cant get access to the internet. What am I doing wrong?

I dont know if you still need help in this matter, but I did the exact same thing (except i used my little brothers sim card) and he has a side kick. As it turns out , the data pack for the sidekick from Tmobile is only for the Sidekick. For some reason other phones unlocked or not will not read its internet capabilities. I even tried the sidekick sim on my old mpx220 from motorola and it gave me a connectin error. Now that I have a tmobile sidekick on my unlocked treo I havent had any connection problems.

SideKick uses its own proprietary DATA servers and they also have a unique APN. You cannot use a SideKick DATA package on anything but a SideKick, period. A SideKick SIM will send SMS and make and receive phone calls though.
