what will XBM give me?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Ive had problems with my lg c2000 and I'm on my 2nd one (thanks to XBM), the first one had a defective camera. Now my phone will shut off or restart every once in a while (about once or twice a week) and also almost never notifies me of new voicemail, I'll have to guess if i see a missed call. What do you think the odds are that I'll get a different model if I complain about these issues?

Thanks.

You will get another LG C2000. It takes 3 phones before they will let you request a different model. Sorry.

YAY! I am on my third razr right now! So will they send me a w600i? If so for how much? What else could I get?

Posted by: amendelson

is it still worth it for me to XBM for the problems i listed above?

Posted by: zerilos

That's the whole point behind XBM, so that you have a working phone. I'd say do it, and request a different model if you wind up being fed up. They gave me a V551 2 years ago after I had 3 v400's.

Posted by: Rok3nIt

And how much did you have to pay for them to send you a different model?

Posted by: zerilos

Didn't have to pay anything, as long as it's still under warranty. Don't go telling them you want a particular phone until they say yes to your request of a new model.

Hm.. got my first razr on Jan 8th, my second around Feb. 20th, and my third one last week. If I call them and say look I have had 3 razrs and i am tired of them what can you do for me, they could send me like a diffrent model, and then I could request one, and if so do they have to send me that or would they send me some crappy replacement that is not a razr like some beat up 6010 or something?

They'll offer you one, if it's not the one you want, just be persistent about it, but remember to be nice.

So your reason for XBMing your 3rd RAZR is...you're tired of it?

I certainly wouldn't state THAT as your reason for doing an exchange, you'll probably get laughed at. XBM exists for occasions when your phone has an actual problem, and they won't take kindly to you wasting your time because your RAZR doesn't thrill you anymore.

What would you want instead of a RAZR? They wouldn't send you a 6010, but you might expect something like a v557, SE z520, etc.

Posted by: Rok3nIt

No, I am a little tired of it haha, but my earpeice is very low, calls wont come through sometimes, and some times the phone will restart when I am right in the middle of something. I was thinking about a w600i, I wanted a cg300, but I don't know if I can get one since I won't sign up for PTT. So they will offer me a different phone and I can *politely* state that I would like a w600i, and they will send it to me no charge?

No, I'm not expecting to get some $500 smartphone for free from this and sell it, I just want a good lower-end phone that I can hear, and that will work. I love my razr, but it just kind of, well, sucks. I was thinking around the lines of a cg300 or w600i. Possibly a SLVR, if it is ANY better than the RAZR.

Posted by: tennessee31

You might be able to talk them into a w600i, just make sure they're willing to give you something other than the RAZR first. I wouldn't count on the cg300 (they'd wonder why you want it if you're not adding PTT). I know someone who got a w600i as an XBM for a Nokia 3300, so what you're suggesting isn't crazy.

Awesome, so I call, tell them my third razr is malfunctioning, tell them the problem ( I cannot hear it and sometimes it doesn't ring, sometimes it won't let me call out), I tell ask POLITLY if they could send me anything else besides a razr, (if they don't ask me first), and I ask them if they can send me a w600i instead of another razr, and they will send me one no charge to me whatsoever unless I get the speedy shipping?

why didn't you just buy the w600 in the first place?

Posted by: Rok3nIt

Trust me, I kick myself in the @$$ every day for NOT buying it. It all boils down to price, 68 dollars for razr, or 150 for w600i?

Posted by: amendelson

so no one really answered my question which was the start of this topic, will i get a new phone if my phone restarts every once in a while and also frequently does not notify me of new voicemails?

Posted by: emo_bear

depends on how many times u have dones an xbm, usually 3 and u have to tell them u do not want a razr anymore.

Posted by: Rok3nIt

Yup, I can either have my sis upgrade hers and get one, even though I have to pay full price, or I can call XBM and tell them my third razr is messing up and I can request a w600i, even though they will probably send me a v557 or c2000, ew..

Posted by: blessd24

Full price for a w600i in IL would be 300-100 MIR. $200.

Upgrade price is 200-100. $100

Posted by: Rok3nIt

Okay. I don't understand mail in rebates, so I send in 100 dollars and only have to pay 100 or does it knock off 100 dollars, help, im A noob at buying the phones.

Posted by: blessd24

You pay 200 in the store on the upgrade. I give you a form that you have to send out and they send you a 100 dollar prepaid Visa card. Takes about 6 weeks to get back.

Posted by: Rok3nIt

Yeah, I think I'll just try the XBM first.

Posted by: Rok3nIt

If you havent seen this the 4 other times I have posted it,
MY FREE w600i is coming Tuesday!

Posted by: emo_bear

rok3nIt, u need to calm that mess down.

Posted by: tripy

Oh well, I cannot blame he?she, I was just as excited when I ordered mine.

Posted by: Rok3nIt

So, got my w600i, doesnt work, send it back, my second one is doing the same thing. I am tired of trying XBM but I am in a contract and cannot afford right now to pay the out of contract price! Do I just suck it up and try again? This would be my fifth time calling!

Is this the one you damaged in the washing machine, or is this another situation?

Posted by: Rok3nIt

This was before I washed it trip

Posted by: rpk113

I just XBM'ed a Siemens S66 for a Motorola MpX220, i'm as happy as a pig in poop!!

Posted by: Rok3nIt

220, I heard those were about the buggiest phones out there, good luck!

Posted by: octoberrox03

MPX 220, or the v220? ALthough, I guess you cannot answer me anyway, your banned.

Why did he get banned? I am new to this and want to avoid doing whatever he did?

Posted by: PointZero

MPx220 is notorious for it's buggy problems, but they are also quite stable; it all comes down to the luck of the draw. The only inherent problem with that phone is the low speakerphone volume.

Posted by: rpk113

yeah, i'm not banned, I just throw out my opinion here and there, but it was the mpx220, I so far love it, no bugs yet...

Posted by: octoberrox03

Oh, I was talking to Rok3nIt.
