If you use the program from the S40 CD (I forget the program name), you can view/upload a bitmap picture to replace the "Siemens" logo when you turn on the phone.

you can put ur own picture at s40, blank the "own greeting" text, and change it with ur own picture as bitmap from ur computer via the cd program, now u can view it everytime u turn on ur computer, and if u wanna view it manually, enter the engineering menu: *#engineer*test# (as numbers), look up the graphics menu and choose own greeting, now u can view it for several second. try it.

In order to connect the S40 to a computer, you need a data cable or an infra-red port in your computer. The S40 CD comes with several programs. There is a program allows you to import/export ringtones, phonebooks, and import/export logo. I think you can change the logo by importing a BMP file. However, I never try that because I sent my phone to Siemens couple days ago. I'm still waiting my phone comes back with firmware 3.20.

I just browsed through the Siemens CD. Just tuck your CD in the CD-rom, it should auto-play itself. You will see XTND Connect View on the left column. You can use either inferred eye or data cable to send bitmap to your phone.
Just wonder, why the CD comes with the phone, but not the data cable?
I NEEEEED data cable...any group purchase here??
