After three glorious weeks of vacation and not haveing to deal with customers, I have to return to work Monday.
How I didn't miss a call like this when I was gone;
Cust: I'm having trouble conecting to medianet, can you help me?
Me: Are you on the phone right now?
Cust: Yes I am.
Me: I need you on another line. Is there a number I can call you back at?
Cust: No, I am in my car and traveling. Can't I just hang up and you work on it and call be back when you're finished?
Me:
No i need you on another line to trouble shoot the phone, and to go through the settings.
Cust: I don't see why, you sent me the phone and all the setting should be correct. If you can't help me right now, then I want to talk to your supervisor.
Me:
I'm sorry, but even my supervisor will advise you that you must be on another line.
Cust: You know what, I'm just going to hang up and call back to talk to someone else.
I get about 10+ people that call from there phone every day. And they wonder why my repeat calls are high.
Ok, I'll admit, I get one of these types calls maybe once month or so that, but I still hate that call. Most callers have no issue with me calling them on another phone if they have one.

for some reason they just don't get that you can't help them when they are on the phone.
it was always fun to use the analogy of doing engine repair while driving down the road. they shut up after that.
