I Got The Sk2 I Have To Say It Is Cool But Get The Mda

You might try the Prepaid SK2 option. Would not lock you into a contract and would only be $30 plus tax to use the device without a voice plan. If you keep Cingular for voice, you can have the voice option disabled for your account so you never get calls.

Luck.

If you forward all your voice calls to your Cingular, will you get charged minutes on your SK2 prepaid?

chinasaur.. do you have to be 18years or older to activate a prepaid baby

1. Forwarding calls costs you money. Better to disable voice. Most deaf consumers do this all the time since they don't need it.

2. Usually need to be 18 to enter a contract. Don't know actually sk8'r. Can always call and find out

well, thing is, i found a website where i can pay for a sidekick ($100), then get a $100 rebate. making it free. but on that same site, they have the mda which is $250, and you get a $100 rebate..making it $100. so i cant really decide. i think ill go w/ t-mobile's data plan though..just cause it seems better

has anyone had both?

Nope you dont have to be 18 to open up a prepaid account with T-Mobile. I've done it once when I was 14 (throwback nokia) and again when I was 17 (SK2)

About doing this? My gf wants to get to go w/ sprint b/c TMo isnt doing it for her. BUT she still wants to keep the SK2 for the email/SMS/AIM and what not, just not the voice service anymore. She is out of contract, can she keep the $20 sidekick plan only and not pay 4 a voice plan?

I know she cant have the same number on both companies. She is getting a new number with Sprint.

Thanks,
David

Unless they changed it recently, you can't forward calls on T-Mobile prepaid.

With the MDA the data plan doesnt cover text messages, so you would pay for AIM. The Sidekick has it all added in.

She would have to either convert the plan to a pre-paid plan (don't know if that's possible), or terminate the voice plan which would move her rate to $30. As both options would cost her $30 plus tax, I would recommend trying to modify her current plan to data only first, unless they want her to sign a new contract. If they do require a new contract to remove voice, convert to pre-paid so she doesn't have a contract to worry about.

Luck.
