I'm trying to figure out how to show next two appointments on home screen? It shows one by default...but I'ld like two. Any ideas?

head over to handango and search for pug ins you want some thing like PKTS plugin in it scroll the apointments on your home screen showing them in order from just todays to any number of days in advance you wish although you have to customise it in the XML code as well as add the plugin in to existing home screen plugins.

If you dont know how to dao these things email I can either talk you through it or if I have the time do it for you.

Yeah Facade is nice, shows tasks on your homescreen as well and is customizable.

My phone (qtek 9100 WM5) shows my next two appointments on the homescren by default if I'm in portrait mode, if I slide my keyboard out and it goes to landscape mode, it only shows one. So I think by default it depends on the ammount of available space on your screen, if you don't want to take up system rescources by running extra programs, try removing some other items on your homescreen, right now by default my homescreen shows
-Date
-owner information
-txt messages
-tasks
-calendar/appointments (up to 2 right now)
-MSN mobile
-Device locked status

I can remove any of those to free up space for others, I suggest you try that first before loading extra software that you may not need.

P.S I'm not knocking any of those programs, I haven't used them, and I've
heard great things about facade, so maybe you do want to try those aswell, I just would rather not have too many system processes running at any given time..

Umm....this is the *Smartphone* forum. I think you're mixed up. You cannot remove and re-order items on the SMartphone the same way you do on a PPC.

Maybe I am confused, I was under the impression that Windows mobile 2003 and 2005 (WM3 and WM5) were considered smartphones, no?

There is a Smartphone and PPC version of both systems. The OP was talking about a Smartphone. Your device is a PPC.

You CAN remove and re-order items on the Smartphone, just like the Pocket PC. However, any plugins that you use must be Smartphone compatible.

please read my post again. i said you cannot do it the same way as an a ppc.

Well from what I've seen I can reorder stuff and move it around...but I have plenty of space on my screen still so I don't think that's the solution. I will check out Facade and the PKTS plugin.

Fascade isn't freeware. It's $15 to own.

Facade is not free... I think it's $15 or something.

Posted by: conan_troutman

do you want to payfor it then feel free to there is however a perfectly good beta version9.5 the version befor 1.0 (which is $15) available at www.surrealneworks.com for free or I have a copy of the beta also only thing is any configurations will have to be done via xml where as 1.0 can be done via the configuration screen.

I bought it, its well worth $15, and you may want to get papyrus as well which is way better than the built in PIM app. I'm usually a grump about this things, but its a good quality product.

I agree, if productivity and PIM is a key element of one's smartphone use - Facade and Papyrus are must haves. That said, I still have the 0.95 beta of Facade and didn't even realize it wasn't free anymore. I have it configured exactly how I want so there's little reason for me to upgrade. That said, the XML can be a bit intimidating for those who haven't done anything like that before and they'd probably be better off just paying.

All I want my homescreen to have is this:
Carrier
Time
Next 2 Appointments/Entries in Calendar
Profile
Voicemail/Text Messages
Wifi On/Off if there's room

Will Facade let me do this?

I'm not afraid to use XML as I already messed with it a bit.

Of the above, the only thing Facade will allow you to add is your next 2 appointments (and then some).

There is no way to turn WiFi on without first opening the Comm Manager application and switching it from there. You can turn it off without using Comm Manager, but what good is that, right?
