Hi Everyone,

I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla Sport and i have the new 30gb ipod video. I need an awesome FM Transmitter to be able to charge and play my ipod through my cars stereo. The car is a lease so i dont want to change out the stock radio, to get a direct line. I have already tried several FM Transmitters and are not having very good sucess. I have tried the Belkin Tunecast II, the griffin itrip w/ dock connecter. And most recently the Kensington FM Transmitter. And none of them are that great. I was really shocked with the Kensington, because it cost $79.99 and it sounds like crap. Any words with the letter S in it sound like SSSSSSSS, and there is always a distinct hiss in the background. I only bought the Kensington because www.ilounge.com gave it an A- and they raved about how good it was and it was the closest thing to having a direct line.

Somebody please help me give me a recomendation that will actually work. Thanks in advance.

as nsx puts it.. u cant find a fm transmitter that is perfect.. and esp if u live in a really dense population with alot of radio station.. u have to really search to find the best station where there is nobody on.. i got the belkin for my gf.. and for city of toronto is hard to find too. she us using i think 90.1 and its pretty good most of the time...

FM transmitters suck. Use a tape adapter if you can.

But, if you need to use an FM transmitter, the iTrip is pretty good.

The Mosnter Cable Adaptor IMO is the best RF transmitter for the iPod. I tried my sister's in my car while it was not the greatest, it did sound decent on most stations.

Is a tape adapter better than a FM transmitter in sound quality??

I dont know but i do not have the option of having a tape.

These types of auxillary adapters are the best. http://www.pac-audio.com/default.asp Monster makes an iCruze that seems pretty reasonably priced.

It's immeasurably better. No signal interruptions, nobody using your frequency, and it doesn't use up near as much battery as the FM unit does.

This is probobly the best one I have used. The itrip sucks, plus i think the corolla's ant. placement doesn't help.

I feel so lucky that my car has a tape player in it after reading everyones bad experiences with RF adapters. I spent a bit extra on a monster tape adapter ($20 total) and it works beautifully. I'd love to pick up one of these up so that I can charge my iPod on the go.

nice it looks hot. Once I get my Ipod I buy cassete thing then I am going to buy the thing to charge

I am using a DLO FM transmitter in my car, and it is ok. I don't think any of the transmitters work all that well. One thing that I did notice that helped a bit, is if you turn the EQ off on the iPod. I think that the EQ creates some distortion coming through the car speakers. I listen to a lot of dance/trance/house music, so I had my EQ settings on dance. That caused quite a bit of distortion when I listened in my car, so I turned the EQ off, and it sounded a lot better.

Line in is probably the best that you can do to have quality iPod sound in your car.

I think i am just goint to get a line in installed for my ipod. I am sooo sick of FM transmitters they are just garbage. I have tried so many of them. I thought that by spending $79.99 on an FM Transmitter that maybe it was superior quality. But it sounds even worse than the one i picked up in walmart for $17. Does anyone know if Best Buy installs the adapters on a 2005 toyota Corolla Sport with stock stereo. That has the jack for the ipod that will charge it the same time. And does anybody by chance have a stock corolla with the adapter installed that they can post a picture of what it looks like... Thanks
