Synching an 8700c over Bluetooth

I can get my 8700c work with my Buetooth Headset but I can't get the 8700c to synch with my laptop over a Buetooth connection. Is this not possible or am I missing something?

It is possible but ONLY thru Desktop Manager.

in desktop manager. go to options>connection settings> automatically switch from bluetooth to USB when USB is connected

that may be what youre missing!

i am having the same problem. i can't even click that box it is gray'ed out..when i connect bluetooth to my computer it says the blackberry available service is audio gateway

You also need to go into the device manager and check bluetooth.

doesn't the cingular version not suppport OBEX and DUN? I heard they crippled their 8700 much like Verizon crippling their Moto v710

Anyone get this to work, please post how you did it as I am trying to help out a friend to get the BT sync working and have had no luck.

Your bluetooth enabled laptop/computer must also use the Microsoft Bluetooth drivers--many don't.

Does this mean the Cingular 8700c has at least OBEX enabled?
