Can we please have a phone come out that does not have a recall on it?!?!?!?!?

Posted by: brealmp3

what phone is it now?

Posted by: VMV702

the Firefly if I'm not mistaken

Posted by: flokati

yeah, the firefly is recalled for not working properly with 3g sim cards. Honestly, I never liked selling those anyway...

Meh...waste of a phone, anyway. Parents don't want to pay $75 for one, and the kids would rather have a "real" phone.

good, kids dont need a damn cell phone anyway.

man, forgive me for this MrDJ. But if any of you guys sold a firefly you should be ashamed of yourself. exploiting 5 to 12 year olds.

what do you mean ashamed? the parents are the ones who want to buy the things for their kids.

What ashamed? In the Seattle area alone, there were several non-in store Firefly promotions, at movie theaters and other places for those things. I know the ones they held in the movie houses, handing out coupons (or were they flyers)?, stickers and fob like things, were done with Multi-plex employees and not Cingular reps. And all the stores I have been in, where parents were lined up to get one, there wasn't a kid in sight.

i dont think anyone under the ager of 18 even needs a phone , when i was 13 my life wasnt that imprortant and busy thet i needed a cell phone , hell i barly need one now but i got a awsome deal so i keep it

I've always hated the firefly itself. The concept is good but the phone is a little to hard to figure out in the beginning....... redesign it and i'd be happy to sell the dam thing....

that was a joke. my little take on Cingular contributing to bad parenting.

When I was a kid there all you needed was a quarter and you can call home, there were payphones blocks away from each other. Now the only place I see payphones are in airports. Mobiles like the firefly are nice because all you can do voice calls. No SMS, No DATA, or MMS, which means reasonable bill each month. When the kids get older they can upgrade to something nicer with more features. I've also noticed that the younger a child gets a mobile phone the more responsible they are when it comes to using it. Between 6-12 they dont charge up high bills ..etc. Its the 13+ crowds when they get there first phone they go crazy with the ringtones and usuage.

I dont have any children but IMO i'd probably get my kids phones around there tenth Birthday.

we need a sarcasm meter.

i'm not sure what an 8 year old needs with a phone, but i hope the parents keep buying them.

whats wrong w/ kids having the ability to call their parents? what if the kid missed the bus and needed a ride home but didn't know their parents cell phone number (most schools are poor at keeping that info updated)? The firefly i thought, was a great idea. The kid can't use it for anything other than to call mom and dad, its an extra piece of security for your kids.

My 5 month old daughter has her own cell phone

Not really... it's a phone that stays in her diaper bag in case of an emergency.
