Help with v710 and USB Dongle Connection for Modding

Ok, I'm a noob as you will find out, but here's where I'm at.

I am in Toronto with Telus and I just got a used Motorola v710. I went out this past weekend to get a USB Cable for file transfers but ended up getting a USB Bluetooth Dongle.

Maybe someone with experience can tell me whether or not that was a dumb move. They told me "why not get the bluetooth adaptor, that way if you switch phones you don't have to purchase another cable."

Also I tried connecting to it I seem to 'pair' up with it just fine, but then when I try to open a network connection it dials and on the phone I see Data 14.4 connection for 2 seconds and then it ends the call. What's up with that?
I'd like to use PKMAN and other tools but it just says the phone isn't connected even though it's paired with the bluetooth adaptor.

I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks,

TBOLT

Personally, I wouldn't mod a phone over a wireless connection. Besides that, I'd be willing to bet that it isn't possible.

Look on ebay for cables. $5-$10 is the right price range.
