RAZR v3c and H500 headset

Sorry if this is posted somewhere else, I haven't been able to see anyone else with the same problem as me

I just bought a new RAZR v3c and a Motorola H500 bluetooth headset. Are these compatible?

I can hear people fine, but apparently the people on the other end only hear clicking noises and hums. I bought the exact same headset for my friends GSM RAZR and they don't have any issues at all.

Is this just a bad batch? Or is it not compatible for my phone?

Thanks in advance for your help

Try syncing the headset with his GSM RAZR to see if he has the same issues. I am assuming that the problem is with the headset.

Having similiar problem with my RaZoR V3c and MoTo H500. I'm on my second H500, soon to be 3rd.

Sometimes I hear clicking, buZZing and left over digital fragz on my earpiece, their earpiece or both connections. I have experienced this on a fully charged H500 as well as the V3c being fully charged.

I have even experienced feedback from the H500 when I jack the Mini Marshall Stack (H500) volume all the way up. I keep waiting for Da NuGE (thatz Ted Nugent 4 Da youtes) to start JaMMiN with Da all MiGHTY BYRDLaND.....

Ok .... I have seen this problem on my ousins phone . He went thru several headsets to no help ... Played with it a while until I rebooted the phone several times .. Disconnecting and removing headset from phone til it worked. This phone with the better bluetooth than the older has its own issue. So befor you get ready to toss it aside try rebooting and reconnecting the headset . After about 8 tried they finally worked together with no hassle.
If that doesnt help you all I can say is get a newer model bluetooth headset. That was my experience lets see if it helps others.

Tried deleting the H500 and then powering phone on/off. Then tried to pair the H500 again. Tried this several times but the static would rear it ugly head. sometimes it would work fine for a couple of times/even days then wham. others times it would be noticiable after one use of the H500.

I called Moto and am starting to lose confidence. The Moto Rep L@@Ked on his puter screen and asked me to read the SYNxxxx number off the back of my H500. It ends with an (A) or (B) Mine ended in a (B) he said that was suppose to be the latest update. Although they are having difficulties identifying which of the (B) are the good ones. I asked about the date code above the usb and asked what is the start date code of the known good (B) ones. He couldn't answer and said that there was nothing on his puter screen concerning the date codes.

I said well how in the world are you suppose to identify which ones in the (B) series are good. This doesn't make any sense. Why would Moto not change the rev (B) to a (C) to designate the design changes that have been implemented? Or be knowledgeable about what the date code cutoff date would be. He stated yes it is very confusing. I said well congratulations cuz I’m cornfuzed. He the suggested to return the H500 to the store (which he stated should have the latest ones and Verizon is aware of this) or He could send me a new one in the mail.

I like the idea of the BT headsets. Their comfortable to wear and would be a HuGE upgrade to having wires dangling everywhere. Ultimately they are designed to be used as a communication device. If their unable to produce an intelligible conversation between two people. Then the device is reduced to a paper weight.

Per the reps insistence that it would be quicker to change at the Verizon store next week will see what happens. If that doesn’t do it, I’ll try exchanging with Moto. That will be my last time as this seems to be occurring with several different Moto BT headsets. Makes me wonder if it has something to do with the phone. (Although the first time around I had them exchange the phone and the headset.) It just doesn’t make sense that if Moto is aware of the concerns that they wouldn’t have a way of identifying the good from the bad ones.

Well get a HS850 and all your worries will be over.

Me too!!! I have two Bluetooth headsets (HS810 & 500) and both are suddenly faulty! Suddenly meaning, yes they used to work fine and dandy. I can hear the person but they cannot hear me. No, the phone is not on mute and yes of course they are paired/bonded properly. What are the chances of both my bluetooths having the same problem within 2 days? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Exchanged 2nd H500 for 3rd one. Charged up, paired and made two calls. NoPE, NoTTA - Still clicking and buZZing. It seems this may be V3c related. Going to wait for the "New Firmware Update" If that doesn't fix it then getting a full refund. Seen this movie before and I am starting to lose interest.

To try and clear this up finally after further researching and breaking a few items there are more than 1 release on the bluetooth headsets. You need the latest release possible. Its best to buy your headset from motorola if you can . Many chain stores have big reserve so you may be getting a unit produced over a year ago and thus its not exactly new and ready to work with the newer V3-series.

I am also having problems with the V3c and the H500 headset. They headset used to work but after a couple of days the phone wouldn't recognize it. If I rebooted the phone it would work for 2 - 3 calls and then no response. When it did work the sound and quality was very good, but now the phone doesn't recognize ANY bluetooth devices. While the headset works with my wife's LG phone. The sound quality isn't very good with the LG, but atleast that phone recognizes the BT headset!

Also, my V3c is at the latest firmware version (03).

Anyone else having this problem or suggestions to a fix?

just to let you know ,you are not alone with your problems regarding the RAZR v3c and the HS500 headset,
apparently this is a software issue with motorola and should be ready for installation/ flashing on the 20th april, to correct the problem, check with your service provider
I hope this helps
a customer with the same problem

I had my v3c flashed with the new 04 software and it has not corrected my bluetooth problems (phone and headset do not pair). My phone will discover my headset, but then they will not pair. Looks like I might be headed back to the store for a new v3c.

Has this 04 software fixed this problem for anyone else?

Great, I really didn't want to get rid of the phone. I'll trade this in first then.

Thanks

I ended up going to Cnet.com and read up on all the headsets on the market. The Jabra bt150 is a great replacement to the h500. I went thru 2 headsets. Then they replaced the phone and the 2nd headset didn't work at all. It is a software issue in the phone and the h500 seems to me just junk. I am upset since I liked the feel of the motorola better. I can say tho this new headset is about the same cost as the h500 and works so much better. BTW it tells you also when the battery is low. I hope this helped a bit. A frustrated NATE ...

this h500 sucks. the pairing is clear about half the time if i'm lucky. i could have the phone right next to the headset and it would still have horrible static. i'm disappointed to say the least.

I have found the problem and you will be a lil sad. There are plenty of copies of these motorola headsets. So you need to check with your dealer who sold it to you. They are identical and only a few are easy to reconize by the chinese letters on the packaging. A lot of these are also sold on ebay so be careful.

Bought a Razr V3 a couple of weeks ago. Got everything in the box, but no CD.

Also bought my wife one at the same time, hers didn't have a CD either.

Do they not come in the box now?
