Bad SKN6311B data/charger cables?

Watch out for bad SKN6311B cables!! I bought one for $5.95 plus $5.95 shipping from an outfit on eBay. After 3 bad cables out of 3 tries, I've come to the conclusion that there is a bad batch of cables out there, unloaded by Motorola or cell companies on unsuspecting aftermarket resellers.

Cable #1 had no connection between contacts in charger socket and phone connector.

Cable #2 had electrical connection between charger socket contacts and phone connector but charger socket contact block was floating loose inside connector shell...

Cable #3 would not charge phone and was such poor quality that it was intermittent on data connection and therefore completely useless. (Sorry, I didn't waste time buzzing it out to find out why it didn't charge the phone.)

All appeared to be genuine Motorola with moulded-in "M" logo and Motorola label on connector. Vendor was quick to supply replacements and even quicker with a full refund (including shipping) when I broke the news on third bad cable out of three tries.

My brother bought a SKN6311C cable which works perfectly.

I had wondered how a simple cable had made it all the way to rev "C". Bad batches due to poor quality control in their Chinese manufacturing plant?

Anyone else with similar experiences?
