Flash on Razr V3c failed

I wanted to flash a new V3c back to 0.02 firmware. I followed the wiki instructions to the letter. Did all 6 patches to PST. Device manager showed all three interfaces as in the screen capture. Downloaded 0.02 firmware file:
GATW_X_01.0F.02P_PRIhh14145_SuperUpgrade_02_BOOT65 00_X_R2.1.1_V1.8.1P_shx

But flash failed with error message: Flash failed: Cannot access Motorola flash interface. After that, my phone was in BOOTLOADER. Big scare. Luckily, removing the battery brought the phone back to life.

Any suggestions??

Sounds like you don't have all of the drivers installed. One of the drivers is the motorola flash interface.

Yeah, that sounds liek its the problem.

To the creater of the threead, if you want to see if you got this installed, goto system under control panel, then goto harware, then hit device manager.(do this with the phone plugged in) then scroll down the list and you shoudl see somethign called Motorola USB drivers, click on the + button. There should be three there.

1.Acessories Interface
2.Data Logging MCU Interfaqce
3.test command Interface

If one of those is missing, try running, P2kman, or P2kcommander so it can recogized the missing device and install it.

But also, I would recommend using RSD Lite for flashing, its much easier, and much more simple.

I _do_ have all three drivers show up in Device Manager, as shown in the screenshot in the wiki.

Will try again tonight using the test to read the phone book to see if the phone is really connected.

OK, I still cannot flash.

I have all three interfaces show up in Device manager.
I can successfully read the phone book with PST as detailed in the wiki.

But when I try flashing, I first get a warning "Invalid ESN", then the failure message.

I am close to giving up...

have you tried using RSD yet?

Posted by: germ65

No. Because installation of RSD lite fails!

Tried both 1.9.1 and 2.6.

Installation fails with the error message:

Default drive of D: detected; RSD program files can only be installed on C: drive. RSD program installation will abort.

Why? I do have a D: drive, but I am booting from C: and everything is on C:.

Any ideas?

1. Make sure you have downoaded and unzipped the E815 -V710 driver Pack as per the WIKI. You could also reinstall all drivers including by running BVRP's driver tools and then running P2KCommander and directing the system to where you unzipped the PST drivers. Make sure you have patched the PST as well. The patch has to be in the Programs/Motorola/PST directory to work correctly, be sure to perform all steps.
2. Then if the MulitFlashFlex asks for the flashing interface driver, direct it to where you unzipped the PST drivers.

OK, I made it work with RDS lite 2.6 on ANOTHER computer. Still I do not know why RDS would not install on the first computer.

Compared to PST, RDS made me install more drivers (including the "flash update"). I suspect that is the reason that RDS works and PST didn't. I bet that now that all drivers are installed, PST would work also.

I'm having same problem with flashing, I'm a Newbie and I'm a little lost with all the different guides. Germ65 can provide more detail as to what drivers you've installed along with the RST lite 2.6 on the second computer.
I've installed way too many different dirvers on my computer and tried different usb ports with different drivers, but I think I need to start from scratch.
I can run MST, and P2Kcommander fine but flashing fails with RSD lite 2.5.

To be honest, I don't recall for sure.... but I think they were the "815 pack" or similarly named. GOOD luck!
