ok i think this might be a service provider issue (im with Rogers)

i set my v635 to data/fax mode, and plugged it into my computer. it detected fine, and installed the right drivers, motorola usb modem.

the problem is when i try to dial a number through the usb interface. say i put in my home phone number in hyperterminal (i just used this program to test). you would assume it would wait a bit, and then my phone here would ring, id pick up and hear a bunch of electronic screeching, correct? nope.

the display on the phone says the number im calling, but for whatever reason, the phone cant get a dial tone. the number never gets dialed. it waits a few seconds and hangs up.

tried this with a dial up connection, does the same thing. phone gets the number, but the phone cant dial out. anyone know whats causing this, and how to remedy it?
