please help i purchased and unlocked motorola razr v3i and have spent hours trying to manually set MMS and internet browser and have had cingular senda nd still doesnt work. there is a difference in the wording on my phone as opposed to cingulars settings

other than the above all setting verbage is identical.
i am unable to doenload games and ringtones and i have tried everything imaginabale to make it work. in some instances i have been able to get the game and ringtone to my phone but not download it it keeps saying "file not regognised"

HELP WHAT DO I DO i am somewhat ignorant in theses matters !

wow 10 lashes with a wet noodle. i am super sorry for the double posting. this is my first time on this site and i was unsure how to post. as i indicated " im somewhat ignorant on this matter" but im trying to learn

when i started to post my thread i noticed that i had no place to indicate the cell povider, make and model of phone so i tried to click back and inadvertantly posted twice IN ERROR. the reason i came to this site was to access the minds of people who were much more intellegant, in these matters, than myself, for help to solve my above problem. once again i am super sorry for the double posting, honest ignorant mistake. sorry guys!!

ANYWAY, to get back to the reason i originally posted. can anyone help me with my original question above.

Thank you so much for trying nothing seems to work

I followed the step by step instructions for both the mms and the internet settings. All worked well, sent code to my phone and I installed and then received this message "exceeds the maximum limit cannot add MMS/Medianet" I am at my wits end

any other ideas ??

You need to remove one of the unused prover settings, like Singtel, then you can add the current one.

i appoligise for my ignorance. But is that where i go to
1. web access
2. web session
under that i have
a. vina GPRS - cant delete only edit
b mobi GPRS - cant delete only edit
c. Mobi MMS- cant delete only edit
d. Vina MMS - cant delete only edit
e. MMS - can delete and edit
f. Media Net- can delete and edit
g. express ( but i already deleted this one and it still wouldnt work)

First, you'll have to edit seem 0017_0001 and remove the "i" in V3i. Then you create your media net web session using specific settings and MEdia net works perfectly. You start here:http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=879227.
You may have to use a standard V3 to get p2k to "see" your V3i. It took six hours, but I got it done with the very patient help of WCS3V3i (eternal gratitude, Bud). Just don't plan on doing anything else for the rest of the day. It's a total pain in the neck. The results are worth it!

Tank you for responding. Iread further down on that attached thread but someone responded indicating that it disabled the "itunes" which i really dont want to do.

Iam super new at this i dont even know what the "seem" and "p2k" that you speak of.

I dont mind spending 6 hours if i can get it to work!!

Also, I had originally wondered about the difference between the wording on my phone under web browser mms ( see below original posting ) does anyone know what the difference is

i clicked on that website but cant seem to figure it out. where would i go on it to set up my mms and web browser. also does anyone have the answer to the gateway and proxy ip question in my very first thread.

You're going to have to accomplish two things:
1)Remove the "i" from the v3i in seem 0017_0001 using P2K Tools. Search these forums to find out how to install P2K Tools and edit the seem. Note:I had to use a V3 to get the correct drivers to install and THEN connect using my V3.
2)Load specific settings for the web browser web session. It was emailed to me and I can email it to you once you get feat #1 accomplished.

you can also connect your phone to the newest version of p2ktools and delete the websession file from the /a directory....then download the websession file for the v3i from my folder listed in my sig and load it back to the /a directory of your phone. Once the new one is uploaded, find it in the list and highlight it and make it a system file. then click restart to boot your phone. now you not only got rid of all those useless web sessions, you also have the ones you need with all the settings. You will still need to go to motox.info and find the cingular settings thread started by MAXIMUS in the v3i forum and follow his guide to configure everything correctly. It wouldnt hurt to go through the entire guide including the web session settings themselves just to make sure everything came across correctly. You will now have full sms, mms, and web access to just about anything accept the media net device.home homepage. and if youre lucky you wont get the pesky accept link at the top of every page. If ya do, either install mini opera and use it or do like listed above an learn to change your phones id from a v3i to a v3.

Thanks for everyones help - I will try this, this weeknd ( unfortunately i have a MACso I will have to download p2k tools disc to a Pc) . do you know, if I do this, will it affect my itunes ?
