z520a - how to increase the ringtone vol???

hey there. well i called fido and they sent me a new 520a phone because the last one was dropping calls.

now my problem is when the vol is on number 8 it still sounds like its on number 4 .... is there any way i can change this with a key code or something????

please help me out.
if there is no way i'll guess i'll be asking for a new 520a....

I'm having the same problem. I just got my phone yesterday. I searched and only found this thread on ringer volume http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=794368 somehow I missed yours. Some input would greatly be appreciated before I take the phone back to cingular.

If it helps. I went into the service menu and found the test section. Under speaker test the volume does not increase either once you get to the midway point. It shows the bars going up to show max level but theres no change in actual heard volume. The volume will decrease though. Firmware is R3F017 if it matters.

Alright, I've spoken to Sony and they had me do a settings reset. Now the speaker doesn't work at all with either ring tones or speaker phone. Spoke to Cingular and they're sending me a new phone. I'll have to ship my old one back with the box from the new one and use the labels they're sending me. So it looks like this a phone problem and not something that can be fixed. We'll see how the new one is. Of course my phone is brand new but what ever.
