RAZR V3i won't detect

MPT works fine...i installed everything pointing to the P2K drivers (2.9 or whatever), and the phone won't detect in Motokit 1.06 or any of the P2K applications. It gives me an error saying that the phone is connected, but when I try to update the drivers/do everything i possibly can to make the phone detect, it still doesn't work.

Any help would be appreciated...thanks

Are you connecting with the USB setting in the phone using data/fax as you
default connection? Also, you may have to use a standard V3 first and then connect to your V3i.

yes, it's set as data/fax

why would I need to use a standard V3 first? what would that gain me?

For some reason, the various tools always find and load drivers for the V3, but not always the V3i. Once the V3 drivers are loaded, these applications seem to suddenly recognize the V3i.
