No, there are not in Apple stores, they are in places such as airports. They are trying to capture part of the market where people buy gifts for events as they arrive right at the airport, or as they are waiting.

Yeah but what about the guy who buys an iPod because he thinks it is already loaded with music (and charged) and is going to listen to it on the plane ??

That would be a cool system if say it had a few recent CDs preloaded, however I doubt the record companies will ever have it.

So instead they just need Bluetooth enabled vending machines that distrubute music and movies

(and bluetooth enabled ipods...)

I just dropped $486 on my 60gb vid. ipod with the 3 year service plan from BestBuy, I don't think I would have gone to a vending machine to buy it

hmm. Next to it, they should have a computer with iTunes to milk more money out of them (part of the cost will go to the hotel, etc) or have an iPod loading service.

I do agree that it is good to buy accessories for. I wouldent buy the actual unit from a vending machene, but a set of headphones, or a case will do.
