Z520 Fastport Mod

Hi

I have being reading about the fastport mods for stereo headsets. I have a slighly different application and am hoping someone can help.

What I need to do is wire a fastport to a 2.5mm female jack so that I can plug a handsfree headset (including a mic) into the jack. All of the fastport mods I have found seem to disable / ignore the mic as they are geared strictly for use of stereo headphones. My applicaton does not require this.

Is this possible and if so do you know how I would map the fastport pins to the left / right center pins of a female jack?

Many thanks

Les

Isn't the phone bluetooth?

Hi

Yes the phone is Bluetooth but that doesn't change my need. I fly a small aircarft and have and adapter that allows the phone to work through my aircraft headsets. The adapter uses a 2.5mm jack. I need to be able to translate the fastport into a 2.5mm female jack.

By the way, I have a Bluespoon AX Bluetooth earpice which works just great in the car.

Cheers

Les

Ahh, ok. That's pretty cool about it working through the aircraft headsets. Have you tried searching Google? Radio Shack?

Cheers

Hey Les,

These people have no idea what you are talking about lol. I know that there is a wiring diagram of the fast port connector somewhere posted on the sonyericsson.howardforms.com site (not the modding section). It will be a pain in the arse to search (and eventually find), but if you're determined enough I know you will find it. I wish I could be of more help, but I do know that there is a diagram posted somewhere.

I got a fastport to 2.5mm adaptor off ebay about 10 months ago, so I know they were made at one point. perhaps look on ebay uk or china for them or just google it.
