Im assume from all the use, my swivle on my w600i is really loose. It's to the point where I hold it to my head and it feels like the two pieces are going to seperate. If someone calls and it vibrates, it makes a strange noice too because all the plastic keeps hitting each other or something.

Is this anything that sony or cingular can do about this? The phone DOES work but its almost not swivling anymore.

Does anyone know any fixes? I was thinking about trying to fix it myself but I can't figure it out and I can't see what would be loose or wrong.

I do NOT have cingular's insurance on my phone, I only have the 1 year MF warrenty.

Why dont you a xbm if its been less than a year. They should swap it out

How did you mess up your swivel? Mines is still as tight as it was when i got it. Doesnt feel loose at all.

It just became loose... I called cingular they said they can't do anything so I had to send it to Sony. The lady on the phone told me that I'll probably just end up getting a new one.

Cingular has crappy CS, I am to the point where I wanted to switch to t-mobile, because they have better quality CS, and sometimes, phones. Cingular has a really poor lineup excluding the 8/2125's, BB's, and the w600i. The RAZR was a flop, and the other one's are just too corny, what is up with the LG C2000 and CG300's fake color screens on the outside? Or the new Nokia's 6061's lack of an outer display? Cingular HAS to accept these phones they dont just say take these or I'll shoot you. Come on. T-mobile has a great linenup, and Cingular is kind of lacking. Like I mentioned earlier, Cingular's CS is appaulling.

Haha, the RAZR was a flop? That phone has kept Cingular alive for the past year or so. It had one recall, big deal, Cingular and Moto dealt with it. There are plenty of extremely satisfied customers that own a RAZR. As far as T-Mobile's phone lineup is concerned I really couldn't tell you a phone that they offer exclusively that I would truely want. I know it is personal preference but that's just me.

Back on topic, my friend has had a w600 for about 4 months and his is doing the same thing. It suprised me when he showed it to me and he swears it hasn't been abused, it looks brand new still. I'm sure XBM will swap it out, they actually have no choice since it hasn't been physically abused or liquid damaged.

Maybe "flop" was the wrong word, but what else would you call it? Magnificent? Maybe it's design (the only reason people bought it), but not the hard facts. Sure it kept cingular alive, but I'm sure those 52 million costomers didnt come from the RAZR. But they all have that annoying buzz in the earpeice, I don't know about anyone else's, but mine dropped calls with full signal, restarted on its own, the camera stopped working, and this happened with all THREE of mine. I took very good care of my phones, too.

I loved my razr, if they upgraded the earpeice to be as loud as my w600i and eliminate that annoying buzz constantly going off in my ear, and fix those bugs, I would own one again. Hands down.
And about the lineup, sure it's everyone's personal preference, but I would like: ( If I was on t-mobile)

Or just one of their basic Samsung camera phones., but that's just me.

How do you like the PEBL over the Razr? Im just wondering because the only thing I think it has over the Razr is the magnetic flip. Other than that the interface is the same, the keypad design, the screen, the cam, but I dont like the outerdisplay as much on the PEBL.

Since the thread is about the w600's swivel and not T-Mobile or the RAZR, ugh, I have to say given how many of the w600's are floating around out there now, it's no surprise there are some having problem with the swivel.
To the OP, have you called Sony Ericsson yet? I've seen reports elsewhere on the forum about SE taking forever to get repaired phones back to people. Hopefully you have a backup phone if you have to go that route.
But, if your swivel is loose, you shouldn't have to put up with it. If that phones snaps in two, that would suck. My swivel is fine after four months of solid use. That leads me to believe your phone may be defective, which is what the Cingular people seem to be saying, too.

I have only had mine for 2 weeks, but my swivel is still perfect, but I am having the battery and white screen problem. Just my luck.

Who cares about those phones... those are branded!

T-Mobile allows you to get import phones easier !
w800! w900! w950! w550! k610 k750 > Those are all phones with 1900 band only, and guess what! With T-Mobile you still get good reception! Win-Win situation!

Cingular phones dont allow you to get import phones easy!
You need to have a $#@#$ phone with 850. I am so pissed off at that and I wanted the friken w800 but I realize the 64K simcard chip does something something... too complicated.... and now the w810i comes out ... man i wanted w810i so badly! Well well that's life. The w600i is good however.

I just got my second one from XBM and it came with a knick on the antenna, when it vibrates it feels like the 2 parts feel like they are just sitting on top of eachother, not attached.
