Motorola A1200 Voicemail/Blank Text Message Problem Resolved (I think)

Like many of you with the new A1200, I was having the problem of getting a blank text message whenever I would check my voicemail. I was also getting the exclamation mark flashing telling me I had a new voicemail every time I powered up my phone, even though I had no new voicemail.

At first, I thought it might be a problem with the network, but when I tried using my RAZR, I didn't get the voicemail indicator.

I removed the SIM card from the A1200 & replaced it with an unregistered SIM, powered up the A1200 & did a "Master Reset". When I powered the phone back up, the exclamation mark did not come up... I switched SIM cards & put my Cingular SIM back in th A1200, powered it up & still no exclamation mark.
I then called into my voicemail from the A1200 & didn't get the usual blank text message indication afterwards.

I don't know if removing the registered SIM card makes any difference, but I just didn't want to take any chances of deleting any info I had on the card.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this fixed the problem for good.

a seem edit fixes it on regular motos, not really sure if that is possible with the a1200

Mine doesn't do it at all. I don't get why eveyrone else has problems with it.

Okay, so to update - the fix lasted only until I received a voicemail. It's now back to the exclamation mark flashing telling me I had a new voicemail every time I power up my phone, and then getting the blank text message after checking voicemail...

If anyone comes up with a permanent fix for this, please post it.

So basically, we can't do anything about it now? The seem editing just won't work like is does on the V3 family?
