Best Support: Qtek vs Imate (s200/Jamin)

I am still contemplating whether to replace my Axim x51v with the Jamin/s200.

The only thing, which keeps me from switching is the support from oversees manufacturers.

While Imate requires customers to send defective devices back to Dubai (defintely not very customer friendly!), I thought that Qtek's US distributor (Sound Solutions in Utah) would take care of US customers... well according to Sound Solutions own forum @ http://www.soundsolutionsam1.com/forum/ it appears different.

Even though its a great (and brave) idea to create a forum, I did not read anything but complaints about lack of response on their forum.

Does anyone have experience dealing with Sound Solutions or Imate directly - which one really has better support??

I don't understand why everyone is saying that with I-Mate that you have to send phones to Dubai... when I had problems with my Jam speakers (both speaker phone and speaker for phone)... they gave me two addresses and contact information here in the states...

One is HTC USA Inc in Houston, TX (and they were extremely friendly and helpful) and another is Topp Group, Inc. in Miami, FL. I got these contact information from I-Mate support directly...

Did they change their services now?

I just think he was mistaken. The earpiece on my JAM stopped working 3 weeks ago, so I called Imate and they e-mailed a RMA form. I was advised to send the phone to their place in Houston. So I mailed everything off and 6 days later I had my phone back, and they had even replaced the front cover even though it had dings in it from me dropping it. This experience with IMate is much better than the one I had last time where they ran out of parts and I had to wait like 3 weeks for them to get more parts in from Taiwan. I've never gone through Sound Solutions, so I'm not sure how they do business yet.

According to previous posts, I have learned that the Imate distributor in Houston advices customers to send their defective devices straight to Dubai and that Houston can not help out with this issue.

It seems that different people get different responses from Imate though. The purpose of my thread was to shed a little more light on to these questions.

Good to hear though, that Imate took care of your problem!

Your experience also sounds very good! Seems that Imate maintains good support for US based customers.
