Motorala V551 Phone permanantly locked?????

I sold 2 Motorola V551's with the unlock codes from Cingular. The man I sold them to put the codes in to many times. The codes when he put them in said they were incorrect so he tired both codes I gave him in each phone and one phone now says it is permanantly locked. Can it be unlocked or is it toast? Thanks :-)

It can be unlocked but you have to take it in to a store to do it. It can't be done by a unlock code anymore.

if it says contact service provider, leave it on for 30 mins at that screen, it should change back and ask for subsidy code again..

try and find a place to download PST it will read the codes from the phone,but you need a serial cable as well to do that
