Slider se47!!!

My phone is the kyocera slider se47 v5. Its company is virgin mobile right now...but I heard on here a long time ago that you could change the phones carrier over since the same type of phone is carried by verizon. Is this true and if so HOW do I go about doing it. AND will I be able to recieve all of the verizon goodies like aol instant messager?
