Addressing SMS on Treo 650 w/Goodlink -- to a non-cell number

Having an odd problem with SMS on my Treo 650, which I recently got through Verizon. The thing is loaded with Goodlink -- something my company did to keep everything sync'd up -- so the contacts are Goodlink contacts. Here's the problem I come across when I create a text message:
I'm in the message, and I select "lookup in Contacts." It takes me to the Goodlink contacts list, and I find the person I'm looking for. I select this person. I'm then taken back to my message, where the person's cell number has been added as the recipient of the message.
Here's the problem: What if I want to text to a different number listed under that person's name? This isn't usually a problem, but sometimes I want to send an SMS to someone's pager. (I know some doctors who can only carry a pager around with them.) As far as I can tell, the only way to text them is remember the number and enter it myself, or go to contacts, find it, copy the number, then open an SMS and hit paste. A pain.
In case anyone's wondering, I also tried a different approach -- going to the contacts first, selecting the person, scrolling to the pager number and hitting "menu" and then "compose sms." Still, it's the cell number that shows up at the top of the message.
Anyone have any ideas -- other than creating shortcuts for anyone I might SMS at a pager one day?
Thanks.
Eric

Try changing the contact to mobile instead of pager in your contact list.

Not a bad idea. Problem is, the same person also has a cell phone I sometimes want to text.

Create a second address book entry and add page to the end of his/her name and add the new mobile/pager number.
Example:
Dr#1 John Brown
Dr#2 John Brownpage
Or try any other combination that seems logical.

Have you tried storing pager numbers under "Other" instead of "Pager"?
