i thought there was
what are you doing to try and get it to work?
does anything happen when you press the button on thee right of the flip, with the flip open? make sure you press it and release, don't press it for a whole second or the voice recording will start.

Try speaking with an british accent. It seems to help a little.

My V3X works fine, but of course it is not the V3i... did you set up the Voice Rec and go through all the test numbers / letters.

So far the voice rec on the V3X has not missed one name or number.

Okey, but when i press the button on the flip it says that i dont have any commands put in. And when i go in to the menu to check it out and choose language there is no language to choose from?????

Maybe it's not fully installed? I remember when I got 70R MP + C0R Reflash for my V3x it wasn't there. I ended up downloading some version of ObeyMoto for it, and it didn't have all the required files. I ended up downloading another version which had them. You can also play around with number recognition in the V3x so you can basically teach the software to regonise the numbers that you're saying. Would be nice if you could do the same for words/letters.

In the language settings make sure you set to to English instead of Automatic. I had the same problem with my Singapore V3i and that little setting made the difference.

yeah, I know thats a pretty funny statement, but believe it or not, its true! The phone doesn't understand it when you pronounce "mobile" as "moh-bull" like us americans say it. You have to say "moh-bah-yul" like a brit.

Check the VST folder in the c directory and make sure you have the 0001 VST files listed. I guessing not. They are on motox's site. You can delete the 0003 files and upload the 0001 files, set the attributes to 4, restart the phone and it should fix the problem. On my V3i I have the 0001 files but I changed the 0001 PR file and renamed the 0003 PR file to 0001 so I can have the British speaking lady that understands the US english Voice commands perfectly.

mine doesnt work period, she never understands whats going on, whether i speak one english or the other.

i cant get the stupid thing to turn off when i have the flip closed and i press the right softkey, she starts talking and i get the display on the outside screen saying "say the command"

Anyone know how to DE-ACTIVATE the VoiceCommand software?

i think it could be an extra check mark on one of the offsets thats making it do it because before i fixed the voicemail problem and autoupdate it was fine and then i fixed the two and BAM it does this.... any suggestions?

Thats strange. Mine doesn't do anything when i press the button while the flip is closed. It must be different from one firmware to another (I have the .35R iTunes firmware). You should try flashing your phone with different firmware and maybe it will deactivate the button while flip is closed.

On my V3X it won't work with the flip closed.

i think the easiest way to fix it is to re-apply the original seem which i dont have and start from scratch again

i know for sure its an bit that was checked off accidentally on one of the offests that caused it under seem 0032_0001 offests 00,02, or 55

anyone wanna send it to me? (non-itunes)

i'll pm you my email address

If there is a SEEM edit to "DE-ACTIVATE", it hasn't been discovered yet.

You can revert to the old (V3-style) Voice Tag system by making changes to the files in: c/mobile/vst folder. If the complete set of the 4 basic vst files are not there, or do not match the Language - if "Automatic" of the Carrier (from SIM), or selected by user, the phone will revert to Voice Tags.

Like you, some people have had issues with the phone's understanding of spoken English commands. Installing files that suit you pronunciation may work for you. There are two sets of 'English' files: UK English (0003) and US English (0001). BTW, they cannot co-exist in the same vst folder.
As noted above by djdownhill, there are a number of files at motox's site as well as discussions on getting this to work properly.

IMO, Voice Command works very well. It's the main reason I upgraded (in December!) from the V3, and it has not disapponted me.
